About carmannews
carmannews is an independent daily publication covering business, health, technology, home, and lifestyle news for working adults who want practical reporting they can act on. The newsroom is small by design — six staff editors and two senior reporters at launch — but every story carries a named byline, a primary-source citation, and a public correction history.
Why carmannews exists
The general-interest news landscape has collapsed into two extremes: thinly rewritten press releases on one side, and commentary so abstract it never lands in your week on the other. carmannews was started in 2024 to occupy a third position — reporting that is accountable enough to cite, practical enough to act on, and short enough to read in five minutes. Most carmannews stories run between 400 and 1,200 words. We don’t pad.
How carmannews is funded
carmannews is funded by reader subscriptions, modest display advertising, and occasional research syndication. We do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage. We do not run sponsored content disguised as editorial. Affiliate links exist on carmannews where genuinely useful for the reader, are labelled inline, and are disclosed on a per-article basis under our affiliate disclosure. Institutional syndication revenue is capped at 40% of total to avoid editorial capture.
Editorial structure
Five permanent beats, each with a named editor: business (Priya Iyer), health (Dr Elena Rivera), tech (Kenji Tanaka), home (Sarah Bell), lifestyle (Amelia Ferrante). Senior reporting that crosses beats is led by James Okonkwo. Explainers and consumer guides are written by Lara Holm. The editor-in-chief is Marcus Ainsworth. Meet the full carmannews editorial team.
