The carmannews ethics policy. Reporters disclose any individual holding over $500 in a publicly traded company they may cover, plus any speaking or advisory relationship with a company, project, or industry group.
Gifts
carmannews reporters do not accept gifts from sources, subjects of reporting, or PR firms valued over $25. Industry conferences are attended only on our own dime or under explicit press-pass disclosure.
Holdings
Reporters with material individual holdings cannot cover that specific company. The threshold is $500 per individual security; ETF holdings broader than 50 companies are exempt.
Speaking and advisory
carmannews staff may speak at industry events but cannot accept honoraria from companies they may cover. Advisory roles in any covered industry are prohibited.
